Looking for some reading inspo this month? We've got you! Check out what our booksellers have been loving recently and hear what exactly makes them fans of their chosen books. We're all big readers (surprise surprise) across different genres and tastes, so you're bound to find something right for you in this collection.
Darcy's recommendation: Death Valley by Melissa Broder

Since reading ‘Milk Fed’ I have been captivated by Melissa Broder’s writing and ‘Death Valley’ certainly did not disappoint! This book is pure madness but in the best way possible incorporating surrealism, loving someone who is dying, as well as a giant cactus.
Kieran's recommendation: She's Always Hungry by Eliza Clark

One of my favourite short story collections, this book is packed with Clark’s usual stylish, gripping prose which will make you jump from story to story with ease. Genre jumping from comedy, to horror, to drama and sci-fi, there is truly something for everyone in this amazing collection!
Amanda's recommendation: Chosen Family by Madeleine Gray

Thought provoking, funny, incredibly readable (and sometimes savage), Chosen Family is about friendship, love, motherhood and desire. Buckle in!
Sara's recommendation: Things in Nature Merely Grow by Yiyun Li

The author will say this is the book she wrote for her son James, but really this is a gift for us all. Perfectly, it has been compared to ‘The Year of Magical Thinking’ by Joan Didion.
Liska's recommendation: Life Ceremony by Sayaka Murata

How strange to be normal, and how normal to be strange! This short story collection does such a good job of describing the most absurd situation and making you go “huh…why do I relate to this curtain?!” Delightful!
Liv's recommendation: Every One Still Here

As tender as they are harrowing, these stories are intricate portraits of grief that remind us just how entwined the past and present really are. All in a fresh and experimental writing style that had me hooked. I can’t wait to see what Ní Chuinn does next!
