We're so excited to welcome Asia Mackay and Callie Kazumi to Rare Birds Book Shop this April to sit down and discuss their debut thrillers!

Asia's novel A Serial Killer's Guide to Murder, and Callie's novel Cuckoo are two of our most anticipated books of 2025, and we can't wait to learn more about the books and the ideas that inspired them. It's one you won't want to miss! 

Tickets are £5 and can be redeemed against any purchase on the evening of the event.

About the authors

Asia Mackay is a television producer and author based in London. She started her career by moving to China, when she presented and produced lifestyle programmes in Shanghai before returning to London where she worked for the likes of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. Asia is a graduate of the Faber Academy course and her first two novels were published by Bonnier. Her debut, Killing It, was the Runner Up in Richard and Judy's Search for a Bestseller competition and the Comedy Women In Print prize. Asia lives in London with her husband, four young children and two dogs.

Callie Kazumi is a British-Japanese writer who started work on her first book after being gifted Stephen King's On Writing by her father. She lives in London with her husband and their Bichon Frisé, Betsy. Cuckoo is her debut novel.
